Welcome to Tigray Medical Association

The Tigray Medical Association (TMA) is non profit and non partisan professional association founded in 2020 with a mission to address the healthcare challenges faced in the Tigray regional and also to adress the need for a unified platform to advocate for challenges health care workers face in tigray specifically and generally in ethiopia while doing their responsibilities to give best care to the community.

But unfortunately, the civil war started just after its establishment and TMA couldn’t function . After the peace agreement is signed in December 30 2023, the second General assembly was held in amazing fashion more than 300 physicians attended the conferenceand a new excutive committee was elected .Now it’s working to quickly gain traction and attracting a growing membership base. The association’s activities encompassed a wide range of initiatives, including continuing medical education programs, professional networking opportunities, community outreach projects, and collaborative partnerships with healthcare institutions and improve living standard of physicians.

Since its inception, TMA has been committed to its core values of excellence, collaboration, advocacy, and lifelong learning. As a relatively young association, TMA continues to evolve, adapt, and expand its services to meet the evolving needs of the Tigray community and contribute to the advancement of healthcare in the region .

TMA envisions seeing a healthy and prosperous Tigrayan and other fellow Ethiopian community with
access to quality health services.

Mission

TMA’s mission is to:
 A) Ensure that the community gets quality health service and care;
B) Promote the highest standards in medical education, science, art and practice and
C) Ensure the rights and benefits of medical professionals (doctors) and act as their voice.
